Aligning organizations and unlocking investment
Thomson Reuters had a powerful but fragmented product portfolio serving legal, tax, and risk professionals. The challenge extended beyond technical integration to defining a clear vision for how these products could work together in an AI-enabled future.
I helped shape a unified portfolio strategy and brought the vision to life through a future-state narrative showing how AI could connect workflows across products. Presented at the Synergy 2024 keynote, the vision created a shared north star for product direction and helped build momentum for portfolio-wide transformation.
Product strategy is not only about what you build, but where customers encounter it. Microsoft’s strategy for Copilot created an opportunity to extend Thomson Reuters’ professional-grade intelligence into Microsoft 365, bringing CoCounsel capabilities into an ecosystem professionals already used every day.
I helped define the experience strategy for the integration, connecting trusted Thomson Reuters content and AI capabilities with Microsoft’s productivity platform. Demonstrated at Microsoft Build 2024, the partnership showed how an enterprise AI product could extend beyond its own platform and become part of a broader professional workflow ecosystem.
Expedia’s fragmented in-destination experience represented an untapped growth opportunity. Working with the division president, I helped define a scalable product concept that combined digital discovery with a concierge-like local experience.
The concept established a vision for connecting travelers with destination experiences through the Expedia platform, creating the foundation for what became the Local Expert business.
Windows Phone faced a global data deadlock as regional teams resisted sharing information, limiting the organization’s ability to connect marketing investment with device sales.
My team created a future-state vision for a unified reporting ecosystem, demonstrating how shared data could improve decision-making across markets. Making the “art of the possible” tangible helped break the internal stalemate and align regional teams around a common data strategy.
PERSPECTIVES
Many companies struggle to balance intuition with data when making product decisions, often at the expense of the customer experience. The key to bridging this gap is data—it validates decisions, ensuring they’re driven by insight, not influence.

Tough economic times pose a host of challenges, to be sure; however, a pronounced shift away from innovation—rather than a rethinking and recalibration of it—during a potential economic storm will leave your organization scrambling to smoothly sail once calmer seas inevitably appear on the horizon.
